It feels like this was not originally intended to be a Sandman story. Hmmm...

What the heck? This felt like some kind of Sandman Elseworlds tale. Maybe it's supposed to be a flashback or something.

As it is, this felt like neither a necessary "Sandman" story nor really a "good" story. It's probably the easiest one star rating I've given so far in the DCRO.

I just didn't get this one either. It was waaaaay out of character for Wesley and didn't resemble anything like the stories I've come to expect from the Sandman. I don't mind stories that occasionally break format for a character, but this one was way out in left field and didn't even make sense within its own context. 1 star

I was going to say that this is the most we've seen Dodd in civilian garb and interacting with friends of his, but I don't entirely trust that this story will be part of the foundation for his character. If this story wasn't part of The Sandman's series, it wouldn't be the worst thing ever, but because its presented as such, it's totally out of left field and very disappointing.
