This is definitely the best representation of Clark Kent so far in the DCRO. I'm glad I resisted my regular "Ugh, a TEXT story" urge to skip it.

I think Superman has a little too much fun fooling those bumbling cops trying to capture him. Switching back to Clark in that elevator just to mess with Blake was funny! Don't count your promotions yet, Sarge!

3 stars. Sure it's just a text story, but it's a worthwhile read.

I am really impressed with Siegel's writing here. Sure, we've seen snippets of his writing in many many comic book panels, but it is nice to see a fleshed out (albeit only two pages) story that allows Siegel room to write complete thoughts. As Ice says, Clark Kent the reporter, is represented very well. Because Clark without his costume is a lot less visually interesting, we don't see extended adventures with him not turning into Superman. His interactions with the detective gives us a lot to go on for his characterization.

I was actually ready to give this a 1 star rating because, y'know, having to read words without pictures is my greatest fear :p. But it actually turned out to be a rather decent short PROSE. The story is somewhat generic, but I can't fault it for that at this stage because, well, every story so far is fairly generic. That's not a bad thing, really. I loved the fact that the perspective was of the Police Sargent (for most of it anyway), rather than Superman. Made for an interesting read.

Normally, I dislike the text stories, but this one fitthe current run of Action/Superman like a glove.
