It's a little strange to me that at this point, I'm more excited about a Slam Bradley appearance than Superman. S & S's Superman stories get kind of annoying with the weird random rampages, but Slam and Shorty's escapades are pretty consistently entertaining to watch.

The actual Slam story here was pretty good. The tie in advertising bits were awkward and made me roll my eyes.

With Superman and Slam Bradley, Jerry and Joe are consistently putting out the best hero comics in the DC Order up to this point. Not just those two features, but Dr. Occult wasn't bad (albeit very hit and miss), and the other feature not represented in the Order, "Spy", isn't bad from what I've seen either.

Another typically enjoyable romp. The subtle attempts on their lives always seems to get a chuckle out of me. However, that dart whizzes right past Shorty's ear and he doesn't notice at all? I didn't think he was that dense!

3 stars.

Although the story is fun and the dialogue between Slam and Shorty is often funny, the plot is a little contrived. You could tell the conflict took a back seat to the World's Fair commercial that is a major portion of this comic. Lining a stranger's coat with the address of the money is just silly, but hey, we needed Slam and Shorty to fight some bad guys. All the while, we also need them to provide highlights for the fair's major attractions.

This also presents a failed opportunity. All of these characters in this book were at the fair, but I think Slam and Superman were the only two stories created by the same people. Siegel and Shuster could have easily put in little cameos of each character, just to show they were both at the same place. I'm not asking for a full blown crossover, but one panel of Superman would have made this killer.

The art at the beginning makes it seem Slam is fighting his twin.
