A kid learns to fly an antique plane by reading the instruction manual. Now why didn't I think of that when it was time to program my DVD player?

2 stars. Who was that that mismanaged Hop's farm anyway? Older brother? Uncle? Neighbor?

According to his wiki, that is his neighbor.

The first appearance of Hop Harrigan! Courtesy of ownneil of the Forums:

"Hop Harrigan

Original appearances 1939-48 (Various titles), then appears in one issue of Young All-Stars in 1988, that seems to be his only connection."

I have never heard of Hop before, and this first app is a lot more historic than I thought. Not only did Hop go on to become a popular comic book character, but he had his own radio show (1942-1948) and 15-part film serial (1946) too!

This story isn't anything to write home about itself, but I am going to give it the ol' one star bump for historical context. Hop's flying abilities remind me of Anakin in Star Wars Episode I...

3/5

My first experience with Hop Harrigan. Another enjoyable series in All-American.
