This is the last we will see of my favourite character so far for a while. Goodbye Dr. Occult. I hope you saved us all from poison milk!

I really hate to see this series end...especially with a looming cliffhanger. Oh well, I guess Luger & Reuths must have found something better to do with there time.

...and the world will never know what the Doc and Rose will find at their destination! Say goodbye to Dr. Occult in More Fun. This is probably a good thing as Siegel and Shuster were just starting Superman at this time, on top of their other commitments like Slam Bradley.

The Doc's banter with Rose, albeit brief, shows that they have good chemistry. The malignant wave detection device thingy is kind of dumb, but I like to see them teleport like that.

I guess taking care of the boss wasn't a big deal for Doc and Rose. The new power ups and gadgetry for the duo was probably a slight jumping of the shark for this series, but alas, we will never really know for sure. It's a shame that Siegel and Shuster gave up working on developing Dr. Occult in favor of some weird alien in a blue circus suit they've been peddling to publishers for years without success. I hope it finally pans out for you guys, Jerry and Joe!

2 stars, and a grade of B for the series. Surprisingly consistent for a Golden Age series in an era where there wasn't that much regard for continuity (except for the occasional story arc). It was also fun to see Jerry and Joe inject Doc with all sorts of cool abilities, as if they were seeing how well readers would react when they finally roll out that guy in the blue suit. Only real complaint: I wish we could've seen more of Rose Psychic. I enjoyed these two together.

I'd like to think that the unpublished conclusion of this story would have had Doc and Rose squaring off in a battle to the death versus Reid Fleming, World's Toughest Milkman. Just the romantic in me, I suppose. ;)
