Ma Hunkel will apparently later show up in one of my all time favorite 90's books, Kingdom Come. So...that's a weird little quirk of the DC Universe for you.

Somewhere, in some far flung alternative Elseworlds version of the DCU, I'd like to believe that Brian O'Brien, The Clock, sat down to read that kid's story about Benson Benson and thought "Hey, that has a nice ring to it!"

If you've been following the Scribbly series and wonder what the heck the significance is, this is it. Ma Hunkel may not seem like much now, but she's going to play a big part here even shortly, and that's not even a hint at her future.

But here, she's already won me over. She had me laughing with that flowerpot upside the grocer's head!

3 stars. History once again made, even if it's quite unassuming here.

I don't know much about Ma Hunkel but I understand that she is the reason Scribbly is in the Order in the first place. I like her charisma and humor already and its also nice to see Scribbly's supporting cast grow again. There are a few characters from The Funnies that seem to be dropped so this Huey and his sister are promising additions.
